OSCAR'S LAW RALLY IN MELBOURNE 2012
The Fauna Fighters gathered with thousands of others on the steps of Parliament house to protest against puppy factories as well as the sale of puppies in pet stores which are usually sourced from puppy factories.
MELBOURNE ANTI-ANIMAL TESTING/ EXPERIMENTATION/ VIVI-SECTION DEMO 2012
The Fauna Fighters took to the streets of Melbourne with other animal rights soldiers to demonstrate against animal testing, experimentation and vivisection, archaic and proven ineffective practices. It was a great demo with many signatures gained and many people enlightened to the truth concerning this barbaric practice.
Ninety-four percent of animal testing is done to determine the safety of cosmetics and household products leaving only 6% for medical research! It has been proven that there is already enough existing safety data, as well as in vitro (test tube) alternatives to make animal testing for cosmetics and household products even more unnecessary and unethical. Ninety two percent of experimental drugs that are safe and 'effective' in animals fail in human clinical trials because they don't work . The humane progession of in vitro technology (amongst others) has rendered animal testing obsolete, so why support it in any way?

ARTHUR GALAN'S ANTI-FUR PROTEST 2012
The Fauna Fighters showed their support by helping document the Freedom For Farmed Rabbits protest against Arthur Galan. Say no to Arthur Galan until Arthur Galan goes fur free!
RSPCA MILLION PAWS WALK 2012:
The Fauna Fighters donned the capes and masks and particpated in the RSPCA million paws walk with their two dogs Lois Lane the husky and Indy aka 'Rescue Dog' the Pomeranian X.
This was our fifth Million Paws Walk but the first time we have attended the walk as the Fauna Fighters. The RSPCA has been active since 1871 and is an organisation created by the community and driven by strong community support. Without public backing the RSPCA would cease to function and without the services of the RSPCA the future for thousands of animals would look very bleak indeed.
PETA:
We hit the streets of Melbourne handing out magazine promoting vegetarianism and veganism on behalf of PETA. Look out for us on the streets of Melbourne!
OPERATION DAMASCUS:
Operation Damascus is The Fauna Fighters street petition project protesting the barbaric fur trade and it's presence in Melbourne. Department stores are selling Chinese fur, well known for it's vile treatment of animals. Operation Damascus plans to present major department stores with the signed petiton and make them aware that the fur trade and it's bloody practices are not welcome in Melbourne. Operation Damascus will run through-out winter. Please show us some support out there!
Guys, PLEASE support Operation Damascus by signing the online petition below! The petition will be handed over to the department stores we're targeting along with those gathered in our street drive:
Saturday 12th May 2012:
The Fauna Fighters protested outside David Lawrence. David Lawrence has been using raccoon and rabbit fur sourced from Chinese fur farms. The protest went amazingly well! Thank you to those who helped us make it a memorable event!
UPDATE: July 2012
David Lawrence have now agreed to begin phasing fur out immediately and will not sell any fur beyond Winter 2013. This is a fantastic result following our protest two months ago.
